Richard Reeves is an American writer and political commentator who has written more than 30 books and has served as a professor at a number of universities. He has been a senior lecturer at the Annenberg School of Communication at the University of Southern California and is currently a professor of leadership at the UCLA School of Public Affairs. He is widely known for his work on economic and public policy matters, as well as his weekly New York Times column, “On the Issues.” Reeves has written extensively about American politics and culture, and his writings have appeared in many publications, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Atlantic, The New Republic, National Review, and The Wall Street Journal. He has also appeared on multiple news programs, including The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, ABC News, and MSNBC. He has won many awards for his writing, including an Emmy Award, a National Book Award, and an honorary Doctor of Letters degree from Tufts University. His most notable works include the book Rockefeller: An American Dynasty and, most recently, the best-selling co-authored book President Reagan: The Triumph of Imaginatin and Warning Signs: Reading the Signs of Future Catastrophes. Reeves’ writing also appears in numerous television programs, including The West Wing and Mark Burnett’s Survivor. He has written extensively about education, public policy, and public life. His work focuses on economic and political issues, and his writing has been received with great critical acclaim. He is a frequent public speaker on those topics and has given multiple TED Talks and keynote addresses.
