Morgan Housel is an acclaimed author, investor, and businessman who has been recognized for his work in business, finance, and investing. He is an adjunct professor at Columbia Business School and has written for publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The Motley Fool, and The Brookings Institution. His writing has been credited by numerous publications and organizations, including the American Enterprise Institute and The Economist. Morgan Housel was born in Columbia, Missouri, and is a graduate of the University of Missouri in Columbia, where he earned his degree in finance. He is the author of two books, The Psychology of Money and The Antidote to Stock Market Volatility. His books explain how families, investors, and companies interact with and understand financial markets. He believes that both the media and individual investors tend to focus too much on short-term trends, and encourages people to look at long-term factors as well. Housel has received numerous awards and accolades from a range of organizations, including the SABEW Awards and The Society of American Business Editors and Writers (SABEW), of which he is a member. He also serves as a Board of Advisors member at the National Center for Employee Ownership and the National Center for Social Entrepreneurship. He has also written for numerous publications and websites, including The Wall Street Journal, The Motley Fool, and Bloomberg Businessweek, and continues to contribute to publications and websites about investing, finance, and business. He also speaks at a range of events, and serves on the governing board of the Investor Responsibility Research Center in Washington, D.C.
